Dr.
Sunil Mehra, MD (Paediatrics) from Banaras Hindu University,
India has been a practising paediatrician for over three decades.
Has founded MAMTA in 1990 and with his vision expanded its work to
12 states of India and neighbouring countries of Bangladesh and
Nepal.
Dr.
Mehra has conceptualized, developed and provided technical inputs
into numerous maternal newborn and child health projects and has
contributed immensely to the policy and program dialogue in the
country and the region. He has been part of many task forces and
committees in India and globally. He continues to support
formulation of strategies and interventions to address issues like
adolescent reproductive and sexual health, maternal and child
health, HIV and AIDS in the country and the region. A committed
professional, Dr Mehra along with a few others has now
conceptualized the 10K club to work towards ensuring right to health
of children and adolescent.
Deputy Director - Technical & Programme Support
Dr. E. Mohamed
Rafique was Resource Person on HIV for the Tata Group of Companies
in India. He developed the first Workplace Intervention on HIV in
India, the first Workplace Policy on HIV in India and the benchmarks
for Workplace Interventions on HIV in India. He has presented at
more than twenty-five international conferences on HIV, STI and
sexual Health. Rafique is also the author of an Interactive Web site
on HIV, that aims at teaching sexual health in a fun-filled way.
This site won him the MacArthur Foundation's Fellowship Award for
Leadership Development in 2001. He started for the first time the
Indian Business Coalition on AIDS. In 2005, he was selected by the
UN Country Team as the first Resource Person and Moderator for the
AIDS Community in India, working under the direct supervision of the
UNAIDS Country Coordinator, facilitating and guiding this virtual
but vibrant Community till it reached 4000 members. Prior to joining
MAMTA, Rafique was working as the Consultant Country Team Leader for
the EMPHASIS Project in CARE India. EMPHASIS is the acronym for
Enhancing Mobile Populations' Access to HIV & AIDS Services in South
Asia. His UN Consultancy Publications in 2010 are: 1. The Report of
the NACO, WHO and UNICEF’s National Consultation to provide
interventions for out-of-school youth in India.

is a medical professional with specialisation in Paediatrics and has
served in the Indian Armed forces for more than two decades and
working with MAMTA for more than 16 year.
Senior Advisors
Dr P K Goswami, M.B.B.S,
with MSc. In Maternal and Child Health, UK and Diploma in Child
Health(UK). He is a paediatrician by background and having acquired
hands on knowledge and skill on Adolescents/ Young People health and
development has been working for little more than three decades and
is in the organisation for last thirteen years with keen interestto
promote, women &child health and adolescents/young people's health
and development.
Prof. (Dr.) Surendra Kumar Mishra, Senior Advisor is a
Post-graduate in Social Sciences and Doctorate in Culture Studies
has 34 years of experience in Social & Behavioral Sciences Research
and Communication. He served for more than 16 years in academic
institutions and 6 years in Europe as a Senior Fellow of UNESCO. For
more than two decades in three continents viz. Africa, Asia and
Europe, he has led a number of Civil Society initiatives in Health
Research and Behavior Change Communication, funded by major national
and international donors and sponsors. He has authored a few books
and published more than 55 research articles in national and
international journals. Till 2009 he was teaching & training the
Post-graduate students of the Public Health Faculty at Jimma
University, Ethiopia.
Assistant
Directors
Mr. Ramesh Babu, Has almost two decades
of experience of working with different national level institutions
focussing on child and adolescent health and HIV. His last few years
have been spent on working for trainings and building capacities
around children and HIV/AIDS. At present he heads a team of around
ten professionals working across the country on children and
HIV/AIDS, Link Worker Scheme, TIs, Safe Motherhood and PPTCT
convergence in public health system.
Vandana Nair
is an experienced development practitioner. She is an M Phil in Social
Work from University of Delhi. She has a rich and varied in the area
of sexual and reproductive health especially HIV. Programme
planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation are her core
areas of work. Vandana’s experience is essentially in the Empowered
Action Group states and she understands the development issues of
this region very well. Her multi lingual skills along with skills of
networking, partnership building and training add to the
organization’s existing capabilities.
Iram Saeed,
has been working in non-profit sector for more than 16 years with special focus on women’s health, reproductive and sexual health & rights, gender, adolescent health & development. She is core trainer in the organization on issues around gender, rights, sexuality. She has national and international exposure and training. She had experience on leading regional as well as national program implementation, coordination. At the senior management level she is providing critical inputs in conceptualizing and managing programs, ensure quality work, liaison, networking and, advocacy with key stakeholders at various levels. Having good hands on experiences on participatory evaluations, she is working with teams for developing monitoring and evaluation framework for enhancing program efficacy and demonstrates evidences. She is holding Master Degree in Social Work (1995) and recently attended Asia Pacific Leadership Program from EastWest Center, University of Hawaii (US).
Advisor: Programs, Evaluation and
Innovations
Dr Kushal Jain is Public Health expert (MPH from Lund University,
Sweden) and practicing consultant psychiatrist (MD –Psychiatry from
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, India). He has over seven
years of work experience Dr Jain has worked at national and
international level and involved with clinical services, teaching,
research, public health and development projects. He has experience
of working both as technical expert along with health service
provider working with clients in the field. He has conducted
randomized control study published in international journal and is
reviewer for international journals. Dr Jain is also guest faculty
in Jamia Hamdard University. Dr Jain has worked for two years at All
India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi before moving to
Sweden for MPH on Erasmus Mundus Scholarship program. During his
brief stint at World Health Organization he has contributed in
development of module for resource constrained settings for delivery
of mental health services. Dr Jain is an integral part of the
programme planning team in MAMTA. His experience in research and
evaluation is crucial for the evidence building research undertaken
in the organization. Dr Jain manages the “National Training
Programme on Youth Friendly Health Services in India”, a training
programme for health service providers and programme mangers being
implemented by MAMTA in collaboration with National Institute of
Health and Family Welfare, Lund University and supported by Swedish
International Development Agency (Sida). The program involves
capacity development of participants from different states across
the country through three week trainings that is conducted in India
and Sweden. Currently, he is also manages the MacArthur Foundation
supported project on “Strengthening capacities of district public
health services towards improved reproductive health choices for
young married couples”. The work involves leading systematic review
to identify effective interventions on the topic and qualitative
research to understand the contextual issues to tailor the
intervention package. The research is in collaboration with
Department of Child Adolescent Health, World Health Organization,
Geneva.
Regional Managers
Prashant
Pastore,
He has done his MA and one year
Mphil Coursework from Centre for Study of Regional Development, JNU
and at present he is deregistered from his PhD work from JNU. He has
obtained training from the University of Oregon on qualitative
techniques in analysis. Mr. Prashant has worked in the field of
content development and volunteer work in Himalayas before coming
into NGO sector. He is been working on various issues concerning
public health which includes environmental health. He has been part
of various national and international groups working across the
world. Mr Prashant has also participated in various UNEP
negotiations as part of civil society coalition. He has been an
active member of the global coalition of Health Care Without Harm
and ban HG.
In both environment and public health issues Mr Prashant has worked
closely with the both state and central government across the
country. He was part of consultation of national policy on Infection
Control and Environment Plan for MOHFW under NRHM. Before joining
MAMTA recently, he was part of NACO truckers TSG as a Regional
Manager for the North Indian States.
Mr. Prashant has published and presented various papers at both
national and international level important being on Hospital
Sanitation at SACOSAN-III at Vigyan Bhawan in 2008 and peer
publication in Current Science Journal.
Archana Sarkar: PhD in Anthropology from Delhi University. She has more than 10 years
of experience in research and programs on public health, nutrition,
growth, maternal, child and neonatal health and TB/HIV. She has been
involved in large randomized controlled trials in collaboration with
Johns Hopkins University in different developing country settings
like India, Bangladesh and Africa. She is involved in proposal
development, form designing, implementation and training, analysis
and manuscript writing. She has several publications in peer
reviewed journal and has presented papers in international
conferences.
Murai Chandra, M-Phil, PGDMA in Export Management, Experience in implementation of
development programmes with special emphasis on women empowerment
and gender. Experience in imparting gender sensitization and
mainstreaming trainings. Total experience of 8+ years.
Dr. Mahasweta
Satpati holds a M. Phil (CW) and Ph.D. degree in Social & Population
Geography from North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong. She is competent
professional in Research & Development over 7 years of progressive
experience in the field of Population and Social Science Research using
various Statistical & GIS software. She has a special ability in the
area of Geographical Information System, particularly in mapping and has
received training in Remote Sensing, GIS and GPS (Global Positioning
System). She has expertise on Research and well versed in handling both
qualitative and quantitative data, analysis and report writing. She has
successfully executed research projects at CEHAT, ICRW and FPAI. She has
working experience on Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation.

Ms. Priyanka,
B.Sc, PG Diploma in PR and Advertising, she has 8+ years of
experience in development communications with focus area being IEC,
Advocacy and Social Mobilisation. Have been associated with
programmes and campaigns on Immunisation, Family Planning,
Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health. The organisational
communication comprise documentation, publication of annual report,
newsletter, corporate brochure, magazines etc.
Faiyaz Akhtar, Master of
Social Work from Aligarh Muslim University, India (1997) and MSc. in
(Applied Anthropology) from Oregon State University, USA (2005) has
10 years of experience in implementing and development projects in
various parts of the country. Young People’s Sexual and Reproductive
Health (YS-RHR), HIV and AIDS and other issues focusing development
of Young People in India are the core areas of his works. Mr. Akhtar
is recipient of prestigious Tom Hogg Award, given to international
Scholars by Oregon State University in the year 2005.
Sanket Vetam, postgraduate in
Social Work from Mumbai University, registered with General Social
Care Council - UK as Qualified Social Worker. He has more than ten
years of experience in the non-profit development sector with
National & International Organization, especially in the areas of
Community Development, Disaster Management (relief and
rehabilitation) and HIV/AIDS. He has expertise in Project Planning -
Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Networking, Training, Report
and Documentation.

Anjana Matta,
Masters in Social Work, diploma in Guidance and counselling and B.Ed.
Has been working since last 20 years in areas of counselling, training,
community development and project management with women, children young
people and service providers on issues of Reproductive child health,
integrated development, domestic violence, young people reproductive and
sexual health, community mobilization, refugees welfare etc. have worked
with UNHCR project for more than 5 years and has been working in MAMTA
more than 9 years.

Ratna Gaikwad, Masters in
Philosophy, with specialisation in Rural and Tribal development, she
has been working in developmental sector from last seven years.
Working as a Programme Manager with MAMTA since four years. Area of
her interest is training and facilitated various training programmes
organized for Peer Educators, NGOs Coordinators& staff, and para
medical staff Asha Sahyoginis' on issues related to reproductive
health, gender, life skill education early marriage and early
pregnancy and communication.
Kundan Singh Adhikari, Graduate
in Commerce from Agra University, Kundan has worked in Corporate and
NGO Sector and has an experience of more than 14 years. He joined
Mamta in June 2007 in the capacity of Senior Programme Officer
(Finance) today he is a Programme Manager (Finance) from May 2009.
Ankur Shrivastava, Master in
Computer Application. He has more than 4 years of experience. He
brings in an experience of Software Development in core software
industry to social development sector in developing, maintaining and
strengthening computer based online CMIS / HMIS systems and
reporting and development of change related to the project. He has
Responsible for CMIS Development Error Handlings, Project tracking
and Issue Resolution.
Sanjay Kumar Chaubey - Graduate
with Post Graduate diploma in Computer Application. He accumulated
14 years of diversitified work experience. His current assignments
include data analysis (Excel and Access ) data collations
maintenance of database (Excel and Access), Page design and layout
and map digitize in GIS . He expertise in varnmala (stenography),
page settings and web designing in the national language.
Neelima Narang is a Post
Graduate in Human Rights with specialization in Women and Child
Rights and is currently pursuing MBA with specialization in
Operations management. Prior to this assignment she has worked for
eleven years with different Diplomatic Missions as a Secretary
(Closely with High Commissioners offices) in New Delhi, and three
years’ work experience in private sector in different capacity.
Amitesh Sombanshi, Has hold the
degree of MBA (Marketing HR), having experience of around 4 years in
this field.
Neha Khara, Post graduate in
Public Health and Nutrition from Maharaja Sayajirao University of
Baroda, Gujarat. Public Health Nutritionist with over 3 years of
experience in core area of Maternal and Child Nutrition. Key
technical expertise includes Prevention and Reduction of
Malnutrition in children, Micronutrient interventions, Infant and
Young Child Feeding and Emergency Nutrition. She worked with UNICEF
(Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh) as a Nutrition Consultant. At
present, she is working with MAMTA on MacArthur Foundation supported
project.
Saradiya Mukherjee, Mphil in population studies from CSRD,
JNU and submitted her dissertation on Household expenditure on
maternal health care: level, determinants and consequences. Her
areas of interest are lies in Public Health and Development. She has
attended national and international conferences and has published
paper with Macmillan. She is well versed in statistical software’s
like SPSS, STATA, and ARC-GIS. Presently she is working with MAMTA
on Link Worker and MacArthur projects.
Program Officers
Ms. Shubhangini Pandey, Masters
in Public Health with specialization in Public Health Management
from SRM University, TamilNadu, has an experience of working for the
need of health & life skill education program for adolescents in
Gujarat during her two months research study period and internship
period at IIM- Ahmedabad.At present she is working on the projects
of MCH & Adolescent Health issues in MAMTA, to upgrade her expertise
in these specific public health concerns.
Ms. Afreen Asrar, MBA with
specialization in Health Management from Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi
and is currently pursuing PGDCA (Computer Application) from DOEACC.
Through her internship program with Voluntary Health Association of
India (VHAI) she got an exposure of working with a project on
evaluation of HIV control programs in different states of India.
Afreen has a training in Project Planning and Implementation on
various public health issues as part of her Curriculum. Presently
she is working on Project for Improving sexual and reproductive
health of young people by increasing the age at marriage in India,
Nepal and Bangladesh supported by European Union.
