Project Title

Primary Health Care services for factory workers with focus on prevention and promotion measures.

Objectives

  • Identify primary health care needs of workers and explore related issues at work place for developing effective intervention.

  • Create awareness and sensitize workers and factory management on health related issues through providing information and health education.

  • Promote quality primary health care services (gender sensitive) along with adequate referral system to ESI hospitals or other existing health facilities at service area

Project Brief

In a period of 3 months since it’s beginning, the project has undertaken activities such as Staff Orientation and Capacity Building to enhance the knowledge of staff regarding primary health, occupational health, morbidity pattern in the factories. Also an appraisal of the situation has been undertaken in order to understand the situation of the factory and needs of the stakeholders for developing intervention. Group Meetings, and Health Awareness Camps have been organised to sensitise the factory workers about Primary Health Care needs. Also Orientation Programme of Service Providers had been organised for developing an understanding among the factory management about the Primary Health Care.
