Project
Brief |
|
The project is
in the third year of implementation phase. The experiences from
the project were shared in the District Level Monthly Meeting of
the district level government officials. All the concerned
departments extended their help and supported project
implementation in the district. The project has been successful in
creating awareness and sensitising community members and
adolescents themselves to address adolescent health and
development issues. About 25,000 community members and adolescents
have been reached through thematic camps, AHD melas, school
contact programmes. About 316 peer educators are working actively
on AHD issues at the community level. Altogether 95 Adolescent
Development Centres (ADC) have been established in villages with
support from the community. The ADCc have been started with an
objective to create a common platform for information
dissemination by the Peer Educators at community level. Through
orientation and training programme, and also one-to-one
interactions about 45 Medical Officers, 201 paramedical
professionals, 627 Anganwadi Workers and 378 schoolteachers were
made aware and sensitised on adolescent health and development.
The six counselling centres have been established at the Primary
Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) in the
Rewari district. |
