Project Brief

Project Approach:

The proposed programme's premise is that the community based care and support to CLHA is most important and beneficial for their normal growth. Also that it is well tested strategy to ensure quality care and support to CLHA in resource limited settings. In addition, it is critical to increase the utilisation of the services (including ART) made available by the government at different levels for varied purposes by CLHA, since stand-alone specific care and support programme are not very cost effective and sustainable.

Target Group:

The proposed programme will focus only on the children living with HIV/AIDS and are in the age group of 0-14 years.

Strategies:

The proposed programme attempts to provide care and support to children living with HIV/AIDS through following strategies:

1. Identification of CLHA and direct provision of care, support and treatment to them

2. Networking and advocacy with the children oriented service providers

3. Community based linkages and referral for medical care and other services
