Project Brief

During the ten months of intervention Phase, focus has been upon capacity building of partner NGOs on specific issues of Community Mobilization, Counselling, Safe Motherhood, HIV/AIDS and PMTCT. We are the lead partner and are providing technical support to the partner NGOs and are also enhancing their capacity, skills and knowledge by holding training workshop and facilitating district level advocacy work.

We have undertaken a Need Assessment study focusing on the concerned issues in all three areas. The community mobilisation and sensitisation activities on the issue of safe motherhood, HIV/AIDS, VCT and PMTCT by the partner NGOs in the selected project areas are moving forward as per the plans.

The implementing NGOs are providing counselling services in the antenatal clinics (either their own clinics or in the Public Health Service Delivery System) Pregnant women visiting antenatal clinics serve as an entry point for preventing MTCT at primary level. Partner NGOs are providing primary health care to the clients and whenever necessary referrals are made to the government institutions.
