MAMTA’s efforts on optimizing the health and development of adolescents and young people and the experience it has gained over the last decade through community

 interventions has been duly recognized at various levels. The organization is now a represented in an advisory capacity on many national and international committees and taskforces. Some of them are:

 

  • At National level

     

    • Member of first National Technical Committee on Child Health under Population Policy, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare         

     

    • Member of Adolescent Expert Committee constituted by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

     

    • Member of National Committee under Population Policy for strategy on Women Empowerment, Adolescent and Child Development Issue

     

    • Member of Expert Committee on Dai Training in Reproductive Child Health, under the agency of UNICEF and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

     

    • Awarded by National Commission of women for gender just approaches in 2001

  • At International Level

     

    • Special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations

     

    • Received the White Ribbon Alliance Global Award for Safe Motherhood in June 2000 for innovative strategies on safe motherhood

     

    • Member of the Technical Steering Committee of ‘Child and adolescent health’, WHO, Geneva
