MAMTA HIV Intervention

 

HIV & AIDS Prevention, Care & Support is one of the core area of MAMTA’ S intervention. HIV is a biological entity that is responsive to medical interventions, but the epidemic has continued to expand, largely due to the failure to tackle societal conditions that increase HIV risk and vulnerability.
 

MAMTA has been implementing different projects & programs as to respond HIV and AIDS, addressing the (un) met needs of vulnerable sections of the population and extensively worked with the community & service system to bring about a change towards addressing health issues at micro & macro level. Community Mobilization, Strengthening / Capacity Building of Community Institutions formal – non formal & PNGOs, Networking & Advocacy are the basic strategies of the execution. During the course of working with system, MAMTA has been designated National Training Resource Institution (NTRI) by NACO & UNDP to roll out Link Worker Scheme (LWS) under NACP III specifically in A & B Category Districts of Rajasthan, UP, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Orissa state in Northern India.
 

Presently MAMTA is directly and indirectly implementing different thematic based HIV, AIDS & TB Projects in close coordination with, MoH&FW, NRHM, NACO, SACS, Positive Network of PLHIV at District, State & National level as to compliment the efforts of National & International Government & Non Government Organizations.
 

 

   

As per MAMTA experience, focus is given in community mobilization and involvement as these strategies facilitate work that focuses on changing attitudes and behaviour. MAMTA has also developed training modules to promote interventions by PNGOs and CSO on such topics as techniques for data collection, and data analysis, participative prevention, building partnerships in the area of HIV/AIDS & TB, peer education, community involvement and participative evaluation.

MAMTA believes in preventive measures to help keeping HIV/AIDS figures low through a efforts with contribution from of the health system and target community through transformation of knowledge and belief.
